Applications:
Copper (Cu) is a ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. Pure copper is soft and malleable and has the best thermal and electrical conductivity of any commercial material. Copper alloys form more freely than most metals. There is a wide range of alloying elements to produce alloys such as, phosphor bronze, brass, aluminium bronze, copper-nickel, nickel silver and beryllium copper. The application and use of these alloys depends on various factors such as strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, machineability and electrical conductivity.
Phosphor Bronze
An alloy of copper and tin (4% – 8% tin) which is harder and stronger than normal copper. It is produced with a combination of high yield strength and good corrosion resistance, which makes it ideal for the manufacture of springs and other applications where resistance to fatigue, wear and chemical corrosion is required.
